Geothermal Installations

Geo-Thermal Drilling The pictures displayed on this page show several pieces of equipment used for the drilling and installation of "Loops". Loops are used for ground source heating systems commonly known as Geo-Thermal. We have invested heavily in this technology and now have all the necessary expertise and equipment required to carry out this type of work professionally and efficiently across the UK, drilling up to depths of 100 m or more if required. Our CMV 600 (shown to the left) is only one of our preferred and capable rigs for geo thermal drilling (we have 5 rigs capable to carry out this service, the other being our Casagrande C6, Klemm 806, Hutte 102 and our Comacchio 205's) Borehole Method of installation. Once drilling has been completed to the required depth, we then use our powered loop installer, this is placed near the hole with a loop fed on to it, we then pressure test the loop prior to installation to ensure its integrity, it is then pressure grouted from the base up to ensure the loop is correctly sealed and linked to the earth using geo-thermally enhanced grout, the loops are laid underground and connected to a manifold, from this point the pipes are taken back to your heat exchange pump within then building. |
